MYV2 Awareness Month Part II

From This weeks Portland Tribune:

Brave nü world
Portland electronic-rock trio Bombs Into You seems to live in a number of musical worlds, including at least one inhabited by the Cure, another by the Cars, another by Nine Inch Nails, another by science fiction shows on a broken-screen TV and another by all-night party people. The group features Jared Jensen on vocals and keys, Gage Choat on guitar and Jon Jayne on drums and seems to have figured out that all those nifty gadgets available to modern musicians don’t mean nuthin’ without somebody trying to say something on them. Almost as if some guy playing video games suddenly realized his fingers might be better off making soulful melodies for the 28th century rather than going to the next level of violent fantasy in this one. The group will mark the release of their CD “Metaphorically Yours [Vol 2]” at a show with Fast Computers and Double Plus Good.

Willamette Week:

[ELECTRONIC ARCHITECTURE] Portland’s Bombs Into You creates music as architecture, beginning each song with a driving beat and layering synthesizer hooks atop each other until each song is piled high with intricate electronic sounds glazed over with an ear toward poppy vocal harmonies and pained laments. With the release of Metaphorically Yours [Volume 2] the trio continues its controlled ascent from the robotic basement. The band creates something that demands to be heard at full volume—dense walls of sound that bombard the senses with controlled bursts while stoking the heart. AP KRYZA.

Thanks to everyone who’s been covering the record.
