Today: working on a bunch of song ideas simultaneously…finding it difficult to really finish a demo before moving on…new ideas keep popping up. Today’s song is a dark, electronica party piece. Yesterday’s idea was sort of a ‘spoken word journal entry’ about a girl – no chorus or real structure. Three days ago a shameless pop song crept out of my subconscious …not sure if any of these will work under the BIY umbrella, but I like throwing some of everything into the mix to see what comes out feeling vital in the end.
Not sure what it means, but I’m tending to bury all my vocals in distortion. Do I want them to be inaudible to the listener or to myself?… both ?…
